Are synthetic shuttlecocks the new future of badminton?

The Badminton World Federation (BWF) is currently researching a new alternative for the traditional shuttlecocks used by players for years which are made by goose feathers. They are having players like Lee Chong Wei to test drive the new synthetic shuttlecocks and contemplating whether this new alternative can replace the new accustomed one. The reasons are the goose feathered shuttlecocks are made from real goose feathers. In order to reduce exploiting those animals, BWF is helping to find a better solution.
